Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber Of Commerce Chamber Q&A on the 1st of October 2021

Connors and Co. Chartered Accountants were delighted to once again be involved with the team at Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber during their first in person event since Covid-19. This Q&A took place on Friday the 1st of October 2021.

We joined An Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber members to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing businesses at a Chamber-organised forum on future-proofing Dungarvan & West Waterford as a place to live, work, stay & play.

True to the geographical area, which offers a very diverse range of business sectors, a wide range of industries were represented at this event. So too were businesses of all sizes, from one person operations right through to larger employers.

Speaking about the session with the Chamber Members, the Taoiseach said: “The past 18 months have shown the extraordinary adaptability, initiative, and resilience of the business community here in west Waterford, and across the country. “As we emerge from the necessary pandemic public health restrictions, to reopen trade and connectivity, Government will continue to help businesses in their recovery, to innovate and flourish.”

A very engaging event, where members who represent all sizes and sectors of business, got to speak with An Taoiseach about issues facing their business and opportunities for their sector in the area.

The Taoiseach spoke highly of D&WW Chambers initiatives which have supported the business community including the new Tailored Employment Initiative, the Chamber Voucher Shop Local scheme, and the 2022 Budget submission made by the D&WW Chamber recently. The Taoiseach felt confident ideas from the D&WW Chamber would be included, particularly around areas relating to expanding supports for online trading.

Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber Of Commerce New Facilitator

Before the event it was announced Shane Connors had been selected to become a Director within the Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber.

This is great news for both parties and we look forward to seeing the work Shane can do along side the D&WW Chamber.
